    Latest Laser Treatments

We currently offer laser dentistry that treats and reduces deep gum pockets. In the future, we plan to expand the treatments that our laser has to offer. This page was created to help our patients and anyone who wants to learn more about the application of laser technology in dentistry. We will talk about the benefits of laser dentistry and answer any questions you might have. We would be more than happy to refer you to a dentist who specializes in laser treatments. Unfortunately, we do not offer these treatments.

That being said, the lasers your dentist use are not the same as those used in therapeutic lasers to heal pain. In dentistry, lasers are primarily used as cutting tools to make precise cuts and also to bond the filling material, like dental cement, to the enamel of a tooth. The heat produced by the lasers can be harnessed for use in various procedures, such as teeth whitening.

    Why Choose Laser Procedures?

Laser technology is becoming very popular among dentists and they use it for several applications, including:

    • Tooth decay: Lasers can be used to extract the decaying matter before the dentist fills the cavity with a filler.
    • Teeth whitening, lasers are often used during the procedure to activate bleaching agents containing peroxides.
    • Gum disease: Some dentists are removing any infected tissue and bacteria from the gums by use of lasers and then reshaping the gums as necessary.
    • It's possible to remove small pieces of tissue using lasers that can then be screened for cancer.
    • Chancre sores can be eliminated with lasers and in some severe cases, lasers also provide pain relief.

Pros of Using Laser in Dentistry

Lasers offer several advantages such as

    • It's likely that if your dentist uses a laser, you won't need to be sedated, which means your experience should be much more comfortable.
    • Compared to other tools, lasers are more precise, and as a result, patients are able to heal faster.
    • Lasers can be used to reduce the bleeding of surgeries, and to destroy bacteria in cavities and gums.
    • The vast majority of patients would much rather have a laser procedure instead of something noisy and scary like a dental drill.
    • That is, laser teeth whitening is much less painful than traditional methods, and as a result, more and more dentists are choosing to include them in their practice.
